Description
Chapter 1.13 of the book "Fish Nutrition" is presented. It explains recovered energy (RE) as the retained dietary metabolizable energy (ME) that is not liberated as heat, which is measured by the difference between the enthalpy of combustion of the body at the start and at the end of a time period. It explores several methods of estimating RE such as the comparative carcass analysis and the energy balance technique. It highlights that RE is an estimate of protein and lipid deposition.
